Information portal on Switzerland's contribution to EU enlargement

With the enlargement contribution, Switzerland helps to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union. Support is given to the twelve states that have joined the EU since 2004.

Signature of the Project Preparation Facility Agreement
On 7 January 2010, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Jean-François Kammer,  andthe Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic, Tomáš Zídek, signed an agreement in Prague concerning a Project Preparation Facility endowed with the amount of CHF 2 million. The Project Preparation Facility (PPF) is an instrument designed to foster the efficient implementation of Switzerland’s contribution to EU enlargement.

Poland
Signature of Agreement on Project to promote SME’s in Poland
On 16 December 2009, Swiss Ambassador to Poland Bénédict de Cerjat and Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Regional Development Adam Zdziebło signed a project agreement for the largest project to date within the scope of the enlargement contribution. An amount of CHF 53 million has been earmarked for the project which is targeted to facilitating the access of Polish SMEs to long-term financing and to creating jobs primarily in structurally weak regions.
